How does a semi-permanent tattoo from Ink Rebel work? The tattoo is made from a natural plant extract that reacts with the outermost layer of the skin, the epidermis, and colors the skin black or dark blue. A traditional tattoo is placed in the second layer of the skin, the dermis, and therefore becomes permanent. Since an Ink Rebel tattoo only settles into the epidermis, the skin is renewed naturally after about two weeks. The tattoo is water resistant, you can bathe and shower with it.
Generally speaking, our temporary tattoos last up to two weeks, but it also depends on where the tattoo is placed, how you take care of the tattoo and what your skin is like. See table below for estimated lifespan.
Three tips to make your tattoo last as long as possible you should:
Place the tattoo in a place where the skin renews slowly, e.g. on the upper arms, legs or bodyMake sure to regularly moisturize the skin with a skin cream (at the earliest 24 hours after the tattoo is applied)Place the tattoo in a place that does not rub against a piece of clothing, watch, bracelet, rings, etc.How long does the tattoo last? What is the difference between Ink Rebel and Henna tattoos? Tattoos from Ink Rebel do not contain henna, but instead are made from natural ingredients that react with the skin's outermost layer. A henna tattoo often contains chemicals that can cause allergic reactions.
What is the difference between Ink Rebel and Gnuggisar? A fake tattoo/rubbing lasts 2-3 days, sits like a sticker on the skin, doesn't look real and shines in the light. A tattoo from Ink Rebel lasts for up to two weeks, settles into the skin's first layer, looks like a permanent tattoo & reflects light naturally.
The tattoo is not visible when I put it on? It takes 24-36 hours before the tattoo is visible. Our temporary tattoos are made from a natural plant extract that reacts with and colors the outermost layer of the skin. This reaction takes up to 36 hours.
Why does it look like a faint print on the tattoo? The front of the tattoo is not black but dark grey. This is how it should look and the color only appears when the tattoo is applied to the skin.
I don't want to wait 2 weeks, how can I get the tattoo removed faster? Our temporary tattoos sink into and color the outermost layers of the skin. It is not possible to wash off the tattoo in the same way as you can remove a regular rubb on/sticker tattoo. To make the tattoo disappear faster, you can exfoliate the skin where you want the tattoo to disappear. Does Ink Rebel also work on darker skin tones? Yes! Because the Ink Rebel tattoo reacts with the first layer of the skin, the tattoo will usually be comparatively darker for those with darker skin tones compared to those with lighter skin tones.
What does the Tattoo contain? The tattoo is 100% vegan & contains no PPD. Ingredients: Genipa Americana Fruit Extract, Aqua, Corn Starch, Polyethylacrylate, Sucrose Acetate Isobutyrate, Arabic Senegal Gum, Dipropylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Polyvinyl Butyral, Cellulose Acetate Butyrate.
