Arctic CFox is a semi permanent hair dye, on average the color typically lasts between 4-8 weeks on bleached hair and about 2-6 weeks on unbleached hair. We have formulated our color to be one of the longest lasting semi-permanents available but for the best results you will have to take care of your color. The result can depend on a few factors such as the color you are using, the level of your hair, and your personal hair care regimen.
Here are some tips to help you with the longevity:-Shampoo in cold water (as cold as you can stand it)-Use sulphate free and silicone free shampoo and conditioner, color safe if possible!-Invest in dry shampoo (frequent shampooing will fade the color)-Stay away from alcohol based styling products, since they are drying and will fade the color-Turn down temperature settings on heat styling tools (high heat will strip color)-Avoid chlorinated water and saltwater particularly, but even freshwater! Wear a swimming cap if you plan to swim, for the best results!-Add in some leftover color to your conditioner to keep color fresher, longer!
Lastly, don't worry too much, we have more color for you if you don't like cold showers 😝
How to use Arctic Fox
Because everyone's hair health is different, we recommend a strand test first to see the results of our hair color before full application, as well as a patch test to ensure there are no allergies to any ingredients!Step 1 Shampoo and dry hair thoroughly. Do NOT use conditioner.Step 2 Use coconut oil around hairline and on ears to prevent staining of the skin (optional).Step 3 Remove bottle cap and inner seal.Step 4 Wear protective gloves for application, and pour desired amount into bowl.Step 5 Apply color evenly with color brush. Begin at the root of the hair and work it evenly through to the ends. Start nape of the neck and work upwards through the head and be sure to completely saturate the hair shaft.Step 6 Place a plastic cap over your hair and leave color on for at least 1/2 hour or more. Arctic Fox hair color will NOT damage your hair and has added conditioner, so leaving it on for longer will not hurt a thing.Step 7 Rinse hair in tepid water thoroughly, until the water runs clear. For the first rinse, do not rinse hair while showering! Your best bet is to rinse in the kitchen sink with cold water. :)To prevent color bleeding make sure hair is completely dry before sleeping. In any case if you have stained your skin, remove the stain using the Salon Professional Color Remover or a little rubbing alcohol.
Helpful hints:Wear clothes you don't mind staining for the process of coloring your hair. Also use old towels you don’t mind staining for the process of coloring your hair.Apply protection cream or petroleum jelly around the hairline, around the ears and neck to protect your skin from staining. Avoid getting any petroleum jelly on hair because hair color will not be able to color hair with petroleum.Protect the floor with old towels you don't mind staining or use the newspapers or trash bags to cover the floor.Wear plastic gloves to protect your hands from staining.Rinse in a stainless sink if possible, some colors may stain white sinks and bathtubs.
Although fading will occur naturally, here are a few suggestions you should try to AVOID to get the most out of your color:
Excessive exposure to water and/or sunlight.Frequent shampooing of hair and using Deep Cleansing or anti dandruff shampoo.Using alcohol based hairspray, gel or mousse and other alcohol based hair products.Saltwater (Beach) and Chlorine water (Swimming pools).
Allergy testAll the colors are very gentle and mild to the skin and hair, but for safety's sake, it was good to start by doing an allergy test. Select a small area behind the ear or in the crook of your arm as you carefully cleans and then dries. Then apply a thin layer out gradient in the test area. Let the paint dry on the skin and let it sit there for a day. If you notice any kind of irritation to the skin, we recommend that you immediately wash off the paint and do not use the fader to the hair.
Strand TestIf you are unsure whether you will be satisfied with the results or not, you can start by just coloring a strand in the hair before you color the whole hair.
Bleach your hair or not?If you want the result to be as close to the color of the bottle as possible should you bleach your hair before you fade it. After you have bleached hair is very important that you rinse out your hair carefully otherwise there is the risk that the gradient does not attach properly. Do not use conditioner after you have pale, it makes the gradient does not stick as well.
Arctic Fox does not contain dehydrating alcohols, PPD, or harsh chemicals. It took two years of research and development to formulate a color that is so clear in color and at the same time sustainable. All semi-permanent colors will fade, but not all shades fading same. Arctic Fox is formulated to fade in the original color spectrum, so when the color fades, the hue continue to be stylish, but lighter.
