Nipple Piercing

For more info and aftercare advice, fold out the text below by pressing the +.

A pierced nipple can be perceived as beautiful, sexy and shocking, completely depending on the viewer's eye, we of course think it is one of the most sensual piercings you can have. That it can also increase the feeling in the area and be stimulating for those who have it is not negative.

In this category we have collected all jewelry that is specially designed for the nipple, but of course you can find Barbells and Rings in different materials and sizes in their respective categories.

More info about the piercing and care advice you can see below.

The placement of the jewelry is the same for both female and male piercings and is extremely important. An incorrect placement is the most common cause of scar tissue or problems with healing. The piercing should be placed at the base of the wart itself, where the wart meets the wart yard. If you put the piercing deeper than the base, the healing can be extended extremely and can lead to excessive scar tissue and deformed nipples. If the piercing is placed too far out, near the tip of the wart, there is definitely a risk that the jewelry will be rejected by the body. If this piercing is performed correctly, the nipple can become stiff and stay that way. It may even grow a bit, giving you that "just-come-from-the-cold" look all the time. Some also experience increased sensitivity in the nipple.

In general, 1.6mm is the minimum thickness you set when doing this piercing. Thinner than that has a higher risk of growing out or causing wear and scar tissue if you play with them too hard. A thicker size can be used if the wart is large enough and is especially recommended if you know that it will be exposed to heavier toys and / or weights, chains, etc. The smallest diameter of a ring for a normal-sized nipple should never be smaller than that more than 1/3 is covered by the wart. Rods are also an option and our main choice in initial piercings for better healing.

When it comes to nipple piercings on women, the choice between ring and rod as a healing jewel is a very important one. This is due to the shape of the breast itself, on some breast shapes both jewelry works well for other shapes (usually larger breasts, or those with low-fitting nipples or warts pointing downwards) rod is clearly the best option. (if you practice contact sports, a pole is always the best choice).
For a ring to fit well, it needs to hang parallel to the body and not be angled backwards towards the body, even when you are wearing a bra. If you have enough space under the wart on your breast, so that the whole ring can rest against the skin and still be parallel to the body, it is calm. However, if your breasts swing inwardly tightly below your nipple, so that a bra pushes the ring back against your body, then a rod is best for you. Having a ring in such a retracted position can make healing difficult and can even encourage the piercing to grow out. When the lower part of the ring is pressed backwards and inwards, the top (which sits through the nipple) of the ring is pressed forwards, away from the body. To alleviate this pressure, the body may simply stop resisting the force and allow the ring to grow out of the body (even women with wide, flat nipples may have this problem).

Nipples can heal in between 3-6 months, while some can take longer. However, these healing times are for initial healing only and many people may be on discharge from their piercing at any time during the first year. For women, this usually happens around their period. Many people also notice more secretion if they are sick, stressed, when they have not eaten or slept well or when they have drunk alcohol, smoked, etc. As with all piercings, if your immune system is overloaded, your piercings will tell. Extra washing with saline solution usually helps to improve the whole thing.

You need to avoid touching your nipple piercings with dirty hands, whether it is yours or your partner's. No matter how enticing they are, they should not be played with until they are completely healed! The piercing will become infected if you do it too soon. If you are kind to your new piercing, you can get beautiful, stiff, wonderfully sensitive nipples for the rest of your life.

Aftercare:

The very purpose of cleaning a healing piercing is to remove dead skin cells and fluid secreted from your body, as well as any dirt and bacteria you may have accumulated during the day.

Newly made piercings should be cleaned once or twice a day, depending on your skin sensitivity, your activities, which cleaning method you have chosen and the environment you are in. Continue to clean your piercing throughout the healing period, but keep in mind that your piercing can be irritated if you wash your piercing too much.

The two most common ways to care for the aftercare of a new nipple piercing are:

Saline solution as recommended, you can mix it yourself and soak the piercing, you can also buy a ready-made solution in spray form: H2Ocean piercing aftercare spray which speeds up the healing with the help of natural sea salt and minerals. The spray should carefully remove each and every scab. It is packed sterile in a separate pressure vessel, thanks to this, cross-contamination is almost impossible. The spray is antibacterial and disinfectant. We also have a similar product: Recovery Aftercare Spray which is completely vegan.

Alternatively, you can wash with Barbarella Bodysoap. Take a few drops in your hand when you shower, lather up and soap the piercing. Let it work for 30 seconds. Rinse thoroughly with water afterwards.
For the first 6 weeks, it is recommended that you wash once a day in the shower.
It is extremely important that you leave the jewelry in during the entire healing period. If you are unsure if / when you can change jewelry, contact our piercing studio and they will help you.
